About

This blog was an accident.

I was supposed to start another one, but I got sidetracked and decided to keep a daily diary of lyrics till I turn 30 in September.

I started as an English teacher after graduating with an English Literature degree. After three and a half years of a mostly fulfilling career, I left to reassess my priorities and also to pursue a career in fashion journalism. Following a year-long sabbatical of travelling and voluntary work, I did short stints at various local magazines, but decided to go freelance recently.

Things are currently in a state of flux, and I’m doing the proverbial walk in the wilderness till I hopefully hit my stride, so I reckoned that it’d be an interesting way to observe how I’m responding to this pivotal period (which tends to be the case for most people), a collage of sorts that will hopefully be as fun as it is helpful in understanding myself better.

And since I’ve always been a music fan, I thought this would be a good way to pay tribute to my favourite songs as well as discover new ones. I often turn to music for solace and reflection (and distraction), and as much as I love melodies, the lyrics usually determine which songs will endure. So, given the whole universe of songs that capture the spectrum of human experience, I’ll let them speak for me instead.

I hope you enjoy the blog, and feel free to share any thoughts or songs you love!
